Communications and Information Management Unit
The Communications and Information Technology Unit provides computer technical support for the computer and network users within the National Water Research Center Head Quarter (NWRC-HQ) and its related research institutes, the unit provides also many ways of communications for the researchers like Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Network (WAN), Internet services, Email accounts, Web design and hosting.
The unit also developed an elaborate security and monitoring system to protect the organization�s data resources and assets. The unit has a programming team work uses the different computer languages and applications to develop the required organization�s software applications.
Achievements
LAN systems development within the NWRC-HQ and its related research institutes.
WAN system development among the NWRC-HQ, NWRC Research Institutes and some other external networks in the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRC) and the Egyptian Public Authority for Drainage Projects (EPADP).
Security System development to protect the NWRC data from being attacked or lost including a monitoring system to be used in evaluation purposes.
Web Server installation to host the NWRC and its institutes Web sites.
Email Server installation to hold the NWRC researchers Email accounts and boxes.
Software applications development for some of the NWRC departments.
