The main strategy of the SRI is to keep abreast of the state of modern technology in various areas of survey engineering ad applied researches which lead to improvement in methodology and increasing in accuracy and reliability of the surveys performed in Egypt. The principal goals of SRI are to adapt, develop, and incorporate modern methods of computer-aided field surveying and data processing with the aim of accelerating the production and updating different types of maps; to serve as a central organization in developing and applying all modern aspects of geodesy; phtogrammetry, remote sensing, geodesy and geographic information systems.
