The Institute�s major goals are performing hydrological and hydrogeological studies to evaluate the water resources in the different deserts of Egypt.; design of water resources development and protection projects(flash floods control works such as storage, retention, and recharge dams, culverts and dikes, and well fields); performing strategies and policies for sustainable use of water resources for integrated development; assisting the beneficiaries for establishing their future policies concerned with water resources through consultation studies; performing feasibility studies of Nile basin projects to maximize Egypt�s share of Nile water; and contribution in major national projects.
